The main benefit of taking a night course is that you can see how your learning is progressing compared to others in the class. You can also get fast response from your teacher.
There are numerous draw backs though. If you are leaning quicker than other people in your course, then you may grow impatient with the pace, as the instructor will have to make sure the other members of your class reach your level before moving forward, and this can be very irritating.
There is also a possibility that you may miss one or more class's due to illness, having to travel for work, or just other obligations such as children. Even if you miss even one class it can be difficult to catch up to the rest of the class. I have seen people miss a class and then drop out as they have found it too hard to catch up.
Taking an online or audio course.
This is my preferred way, and one that I have personally used for a number of topics. I find that I can work at my own pace, allowing me to use my time to the best. With audio courses I realize that repetition is the key thing to learning, particularly with languages. The great thing about audio courses is that you can place a cd or tape in your car when traveling to work and the learning almost becomes like osmosis. You don't need to dedicate the time to this, as you are in the car anyway.
Even if you travel to office by bus or train, a walkman or other such device will allow you to listen while on the move. Depending on how excellent your memory is, and how well you understand the subject at hand, whether learning to speak Spanish or learning basically anything, you can listen to each lesson as often as you need to learn speak Spanish.
